Do you know the Ukrainian fairy tale about the little turnip?
The story begins in the top right of the picture: with the fat turnip in the field, which, under the grandfather’s care, has grown so large that, despite enormous efforts, he can’t seem to pull it out of the ground. One after the other, the grandmother, the granddaughter, a dog, a cat, and finally a mouse rush to his aid. They all pull and pull—on each other, on the turnip—until it finally gives way and tumbles over the whole group. Our motto for autumn: Joining forces is better than going it alone.
